Founded in 1925, the  League of Oregon Cities   is a voluntary association of 238 incorporated cities throughout the state of Oregon.   Its core mission is to work for strong, livable communities by partnering with its member cities to help local government better serve citizens of Oregon.

Sharing the goal of advancing the effectiveness of public management in Oregon, the Hatfield School and the League formalized an agreement in 2003 to identify, develop, and share teaching techniques, curricula, and potential research projects.
