The Hatfield School has a recognized program of policy research aimed at finding practical, innovative solutions to public problems.   Through our institutes, centers, special programs, and curriculum-based research projects, faculty and students tackle many of the issues facing governmental and not-for-profit enterprises, such as:

  • How to integrate service delivery across organizational and jurisdictional boundaries;
  • How to control the cost of public services while serving commonwealth needs;
  • How to engage citizens in the Internet era; and,
  • How to balance environmental concerns with the necessity of economic development.

The School also sponsors a range of other activities, including conferences, workshops, webcasts, and publications from thought leaders within and outside our university.
